Sara gets adopted and decides find her mother Abby after she grows into a teenager. She fins her mother locked up in jail for robbery and manslaughter. Sara helps Abby win a release and she spends time with her before she leaves for college. Sara gets herself in trouble when her mom meets up with her former partner in crime Carl, Carl dies leaving Sara and Abby suspects of a murder.
